Asheville (10 weeks)

Well, world, its been a while, I know. What can I say? I've got commitments and
my scribe is often kept busy at his "other" job. Its so hard to find good help these days.

I have to say that this was as exciting a week as could possibly be. I admit I've been smiling now for at least 3 weeks. Some in the medical establishment diagnosed me early on as having a "social smile." This may be different from my initial smiles as these new smiles are not gas or poop related.

My mom and I have been spending a lot of time together recently. that's been great. she was very excited to go see her mom -- wait a minute, my mom has a mom, too??!? That is soooo weird. Well, anyway, its this super-amazing woman that I call Mimi and she lives in a funkyville town called Asheville. Yes, I know the word "funky." My parents use that word sometimes, usually near another word: "diaper."
This past week was a week of firsts for me.

1. My first trip on an airplane
I flew from Newark to Asheville and I was like, what's the big deal? I'll just sleep through it all. Everyone was celebrating my so-called "good behavior" but I was just zonked.

2, My first time in North Carolina
Its a pretty cool state, at least the Western part. Home of the Tar Heels and quite a bit of my extended family.

3. My first time at Mimi's House
Mimi remodeled her whole bathroom for me. And I loved it so much I took a ton of baths (check out the extended bath picture collection)

4. My first meeting of my Uncle Brandon and Aunt Sally.

Brandon and Sally live in Winston-Salem. They also kind of live in Greensboro. I don't really know where they live but they are incredibly nice people and I immediately loved them. They're both kind of softies, especially that Brandon. He is a real momma's boy! Probably like me. Sorry dad.

5. My first confirmed laugh
Schnarfel. Is that a word? Schnarfel. That's when my dad makes noises on my belly. It is, oh my G-d, it is, so much fun, I just can't stop myself. A little chuckle, a little one. Wait, wait, I can't, oh, oh, stop, stop, stop, its too much, I can't breathe. I'm dying here, oh stop..... mommy, get this guy off of me! too many schnarfels!

5. My first roll-over manuever
You'll just have to check this one yourself!

The Tree of Life (of my Life anyway)

Undeniably the highlight of my recent week (the most recent 10% of my life, if you do the math) was the tree that my family planted for me in Asheville in my Mimi's yard. I was told that the tree would grow with me, like a metaphor or an Al Gore, my spelling is phonetic. Metaphor or not, there is a tree planted just for me. I mean, how cool is that?

My Mimi's best friend Sara LeDonne directed the operations and I instantly liked this Sara chick!
My tree is and always will be: The Curly-Branched Willow
Salix Matsudana Tortusa

One of the other cool highlights of my trip to Asheville was the Tree Planting Party. I mean, "Partttttttyyyyyyy!!!!!!" I met a lot of people, especially when I loosened up after a Milk-tini. I met Mom and Dad's friends and a ton of Mimi's friends, even the Crazy Claudia. Boy, she was a trip - it was like she had never seen a baby before!!
