The Weigh-In

Loyal readers:

It was been a while since you've last heard dimensions of my girth and other sundry physiological data. Readers have been curious about my progress. As you may recall, I began in this world as a somewhat large individual (okay, mom, I was a beast). I was in the 95% percentile in most-everything and all the nurses in the hospital were impressed by my heft. As I aged, I slowed down a bit but I seem to be kicking it into high gear again.

As of this week, my 15 month stats are:

Weight: 27 and 3/4 pounds (12 ozs) - 95% percentile
Height: 33 inches - 95% percentile
Head Circumference: 19 and 3/4 inches (I don't know, sounds big, doesn't it?)

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Rainy Day and I'm not so Blue

Spring showers don't get me down. No, not at all. Its always sunny on the inside people. That's my Dr. Phil teaching for the day. Only its Dr. Ezzie. Dr. Ezzie says "Keep it sunny on the inside while its raining on the outside."

Oh and be sure to wear a rain jacket. This one is from my great grandparents, Nana the Great and Papa. Its a little Paddington. I dig it.

And here I am with my crazy Uncle Eli.
What's with that guy!?!

Aunt Christina, too.

And dear ol' Mom and Dad.

Chicken Man!

So my parents are not above doing stupid things to teach me words. When they began feeding me chicken (not a big fan) recently, they started prancing around the kitchen doing the Funky Chicken dance. They did this on more than one occasion. I am not even kidding. I admit that I liked it and laughed. Can't say for sure that I associate their Funky Chicken dance with actual chicken, the substance.

Speaking of which, anyone ever notice the similarities between the words "chicken" and "kitchen"? Anyone? Well, it you play with the letters and sounds, they are actually pretty similar words. So much so that I am little confused. Check me out trying to flap my arms when my mom said "kichen." Hey, its not so easy to learn new words, cut me some slack.

Taking out my stoller for a walk

0512081821a.jpg, originally uploaded by bintele.

My parents bought me this very, very masculine stroller this weekend ("its European" for you Seinfeld fans). I LOVE it. I am now very busy carting my things around the neighborhood. Well, actually, the only doll I will let stay in my stroller is this large overweight penguin that my grandparents bought me. Every other item my parents try to put it causes me to take it by the head and throw out of the stroller. It is a sacred seat and only the large overweight penguin may occupy it.

Happy Mother's Day!!

This goes out to my Mom. (Yo, Momma). She's the coolest Mom a boy like me could ever hope for. She loves me like sooooooo much. Like from the moon and back and then again. And like a fire truck. She feeds me, hugs me, changes me, plays with me and makes chicken noises with me. Words can't possibly do her justice. So, this one goes out to my Mommy. (I love you, Mom.) She totally, totally rules.

In honor of Mom, we took some pictures today. Here they are:

I'm hanging with the older kids

I don't know, I just kinda, y'know, I just kinda feel like kids my own age are soooo totally immature. So most of my friends are at least 2 years old. People often ask me why I hang out with older kids in the neighborhood. I generally don't answer them. First of all, I can't really talk. Hello, I am only 14 months! Secondly, even I could talk, I would tell them that their statements smack of "ageism" and that is totally uncool. Everyone knows that. Thirdly, well, I know that perhaps its a little trite....but I am currently seeing an older woman. She had her 2 year old birthday party today (happy birthday babe), down the block from me. My parents don't actually know her parents. I like it that way because -- my parents are totally embarrassing. If they knew, they would giggle about it and probably drop me off right in front of her house (how embarrassing!). So, my babysitter takes me. We have kind of a pact not to tell my parents.

Here are Sandy and I at the party today:

I'm a little sweaty from running around. Plus its hard to keep the girls off of me:

I brought my g-friend a little present today. And I got my first birthday party giftbag!! Watch out ladies, I am on the 2 yr old birthday party circuit now!

Come this way!

, originally uploaded by bintele.

Come with me quick, Mom. I can walk on the street all the way to the swings in Prospect Park by myself (well, pretty much) but you have to hurry before all the swings are taken.

And, yes, I can also do it with "no hands"

But sometimes holding your Mom's hand is, well, it's just right.

I am the Walrus

I saw the Walrus.

Here I am with Mr. Walrus at the Coney Island Aquarium. I went a couple of weeks when my grandparents were up for Passover. It was pretty awesome. I think that the Walrus wanted to eat me for lunch. I am not sure, but I am pretty certain that the Talmud says that I myself am not kosher for passover (I will have to check with my rabbi.)

In other news of passing interest, this was the month in which I got my first kicks as I tried to walk:

I love my shoes and often point to them, cuddle with them and occasionally even wear them. They are called StrideRite.

Of course, soon I was like a little ET holding my Mom's hand as I got up my nerve. Here I am at a racy exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum by some very cool Japanese artist named Takashi Murakami. I didn't really know too much about him before I went. I mean, I know that Anime is like Japanese cartoons but this guy is pretty creative. My dad got yelled at for taking this picture (holding mom's hand like E.T.) but he says it was worth it.

Here I am pointing out another of his sculptures:

OTHER PHOTOS:

The blog has been very quiet lately so I am posting all of my 13th month pictures here and my 14th month below.
