My mom worked very hard on dressing me up in that homemade costume. (My dad and my grandma mimi also kicked in. The pictures are totally homemade.) As you may have come to expect from my parents, they took like a million photos of me -- and, I must admit, I enjoyed Vogue-ing for the lens. (Hey, babe, it may be 1621 but even a Pilgrim has to get into the groove!)

Smarter than a Speeding Bullet

Some of you know that my mom is a bit crazy and loopy with the whole costume thing. She really refuses to buy anything and kinda obsesses a little bit. My Dad tolerates the whole thing pretty well because he loves her. And he is always impressed by her pluck, her grit and her resourcefulness. This year was no different.

As if that wasn't enough, my Mom made me a second costume. We were off to NC (oooh, a SWING state) to see my grandmother, Mimi. So, my Mom sought to confuse my gender identity and make a scathing political satire all at once. Oh, and she even remembered to change my diapers amidst all these costume changes:
